The Asia Cup 2025 clash between India and Pakistan in Dubai ended in one-sided fashion as India cruised to a seven-wicket easy win.

But what caught everyone’s eye was what happened after the match or rather, what didn’t happen.

Instead of the usual handshakes, the Indian players, led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, walked straight back to the dressing room and left Pakistan’s cricketers waiting in line.

Did India skip the post-match handshake against Pakistan after the win?

Once Surya sealed the game with a six, he and Shivam Dube walked directly towards the Indian dugout. They skipped the traditional handshake with the Pakistan side.

The Men in Green, led by Salman Ali Agha, stood in a queue expecting the courtesy, but no one from the Indian camp joined them.

This was not the first time the handshake was avoided. At the toss earlier, Surya and Salman Agha did not share a customary shake either and raised eyebrows even before the first ball was bowled.

How did India dominate the Asia Cup match against Pakistan?

India’s bowlers set the tone right away. Hardik Pandya removed Saim Ayub with the first legitimate ball of the match and from there Pakistan’s innings never found rhythm.

Kuldeep Yadav was the star with three wickets, while Bumrah and Axar chipped in with two each. Pakistan ended with 127 in 20 overs, a total far below par against India’s batting line-up.

In reply, Abhishek Sharma started aggressively, and although India lost a few wickets, Surya stayed unbeaten on 47. His six to finish the game summed up India’s control, as they wrapped up the chase with more than four overs left.
