India and Pakistan are the only teams that have qualified for the Super Fours so far while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are still in contention.
In this article, The Sporting News takes a look at the qualification scenario of all the sides.
How can Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan qualify for the Super Fours?
Pakistan’s do-or-die game against UAE turned into a clear decider for a Super Four spot. In the end, Pakistan held their nerve and won the match by 41 runs, which sealed their place in the Super 4s of the Asia Cup 2025.
In Group B, three teams, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, are fighting for two spots. While Sri Lanka has won both their games, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have lost one each, making the group even more interesting.
Sri Lanka currently sits at the top with 4 points from two games, while Bangladesh is tied at four as well, but has played all three league games.

Afghanistan will now play Sri Lanka in a decider. If Sri Lanka wins, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will move straight to the next stage. Things would, however, become even more interesting if Afghanistan came on top in the game.
If Afghanistan wins, a total of three teams will be tied on the same points, and NRR will come in as a deciding factor.
Group B scenario:
- SL beat AFG, SL & BAN qualify
- AFG beat SL, SL, and BAN, and AFG all tied on 4 points. In such a case, Afghanistan will qualify along with whoever finishes with a higher NRR between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
- SL's NRR is currently better than that of Bangladesh. For their NRR to finish below Bangladesh, they will have to lose by at least 70 runs or with 50 balls to spare against Afghanistan in their last league match.
