Former Indian batter and the current Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir has heaped praise on the Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara, who has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
Known for his grit, determination, and patience, Pujara took to social media as he called time to his illustrious cricket career, which spanned more than 15 years.

Several other former Indian legends also joined Gambhir, as they bid farewell to one of India's modern-day greats who showcased the spirit of a warrior whenever he came out to bat for the nation.
Indian legends praise Pujara for his illustrious cricketing career
India's No.3 in Test, Pujara, featured in over 100 Tests for the nation, spanning over 15 years. The batter throughout his career played like a warrior and did not shy away from putting his body on the line for his side.
"He stood tall when the storm raged, he fought when hope was fading. Congratulations Pujji," said Gautam Gambhir as he reflected on Pujara's career.
In 103 Tests for India, Pujara scored a total of 7195 runs at an average of 43.60, which included 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries. The batter also smashed three double tons and ended with a highest score of 206*.

One of his most iconic knocks came against Australia in Ranchi, where he faced over 500 balls, scoring 202 runs. Pujara batted for over 11 hours as he helped India to a monumental first-innings total.

Pujara's career-defining series came in 2018-19, where he single-handedly trounced the Australians on their home soil. He scored more than 500 runs, which included three centuries, and was instrumental in India's first-ever series win on Australian soil.
