Crystal Palace vs. Fredrikstad prediction, lineups, odds and bet builder tips for Conference League play-off first leg image

For the first time ever, Crystal Palace are playing European football as they take on Fredrikstad in the playoff round of this season’s UEFA Conference League.

The Eagles qualified for Europe as a result of winning the FA Cup, but were demoted from the Europa League to the Conference League due to a breach of UEFA's rules on multi-club ownership. They followed up winning their first major trophy by claiming victory in the Community Shield, before starting the new Premier League campaign with a 0-0 draw at Chelsea.

Norwegian Eliteserien outfit Fredrikstad were comfortably dispatched of by Danish side Midtjylland in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League to enter into this competition. They qualified for Europe by winning the Norwegian Cup in 2024, while finishing sixth in the Eliteserien.

The Sporting News has you covered with the latest preview and predictions as Crystal Palace kick off their European campaign against Fredrikstad at Selhurst Park.
