Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has criticised Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill for not giving enough credit to Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his match-winning knock in the IPL 2025 clash between GT and RR in Jaipur on Monday.

The 14-year-old southpaw played an outstanding knock of 101 runs off 38 balls to help his team clinch their third win of the season and keep their qualification hopes alive.

Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja wasn't too impressed by GT skipper Shubman Gill's comments on the youngster's performance in the post-match interaction.

Speaking in the presentation ceremony, Gill said, "It was his day. His batting was exceptional, and he made full use of his day."

Gill's words didn't sit well with Jadeja, as he felt that the 25-year-old did not give 'enough credit' to the RR teenager.

On Star Sports, Jadeja later said, "One of the players said that Vaibhav was lucky. For a 14-year-old to have that much confidence in himself and push his limits to that extent, it requires a lot of hard work. Just by saying that it was his day, you are not giving him enough credit."
