It wasn’t just for show. The celebration was a tribute- a clear message of support to Rathi, who wasn’t part of the game due to a one-match suspension.

LSG vs GT, IPL 2025: Why was Digvesh Rathi suspended?

Rathi, who had made his notebook move go viral earlier in the season, found himself in trouble recently.

During LSG’s last game, an argument broke out between him and Abhishek Sharma from Sunrisers Hyderabad. It got a bit too heated, leading the IPL officials to step in and ban Rathi for one match.

Though Rathi wasn’t on the field against Gujarat, his style still lived on, thanks to Akash Singh.

Coming in as an Impact Player, Akash opened the bowling for LSG in a match where their batters had already put up a huge total of 235 runs. He got three overs and one ball to bowl and ended with figures of 1/29.

But the highlight of his spell was clearly that moment in the 10th over, when he completely outsmarted Buttler. The ball dipped and slowed, Buttler missed, and the stumps were knocked over.

Buttler had made 33 runs off 18 balls, hitting three boundaries and two sixes, but Akash ended his stay with that perfect slower one.
