The latest incident occurred on May 20 during the Lucknow Super Giants vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad (LSG) match at the Ekana Stadium. Digvesh was involved in a heated altercation with SRH opener Abhishek Sharma following the latter's dismissal.

After Abhishek was caught in the deep on the 8th over off Digvesh's bowling, the LSG spinner pulled out his trademark notebook celebration. The SRH opener didn't take well to the send-off gesture and soon confronted the LSG player -- this began a heated exchange of words between the two.

How much has Digvesh Rathi been fined in IPL 2025 so far?
So far, across three incidents, Digvesh has been fined a total of INR 9,43,500 for his notebook celebrations, which was deemed unsportsmanlike.
He has been fined 25%, 50%, and 50% of his match fees during each of the breaches so far.

IPL 2025: Complete list of Digvesh Rathi penalties for notebook celebration
Digvesh has been penalised twice so far for breaching the code of conduct rules. In both occasions, he was fined for breaching Article 2.5 of IPL's code and conduct rules.
Article 2.5 involves penalties for: "Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in the Match."
April 1 - LSG vs PBKS
The first incident took place in LSG's match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) when Digvesh was first seen celebrating a send-off by mimicking writing in a notebook. This happened after he had dismissed PBKS' opening batter Priyansh Arya.

Digvesh was fined 25 per cent of his match fees, which comes to INR 1,87,500 (from the standard match fee of INR 7.5 lakh) and was also handed One Demerit Point for a Level 1 offence.
April 4 - LSG vs MI
He faced another penalty for his notebook celebration after dismissing Mumbai Indians batter Naman Dhir.
But this time, the punishment was stricter -- it was his second Level 1 offence -- he was fined 50 percent of his match fees, amounting to INR 3,75,000 and also handed two demerit points.
April 19 - LSG vs SRH
Digvesh was fined 50% of his match fees, then received two more demerit points for the notebook celebration and altercation with Abhishek, who was also fined 25% of his match fee.

IPL 2025: Why Digvesh Rathi is suspended and will not play against Gujarat Titans?
The IPL rules state that a player will receive a one-match suspension if he accumulates four demerit points in a period of 36 months.
Digvesh now has five in the season and is therefore suspended for the match against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.
