However, contrary to the traditional belief that calls for teams to bat first and post big totals for a greater chance to win knockout games, we have seen some big totals being chased in the business end of the IPL.

The most notable example has been a 200-run chase in the 2014 final, where the Kolkata Knight Riders clinched their second title — defeating the Kings XI Punjab in the final over.
