Following India's tour of Australia, on January 20, the Lucknow side named him the captain of the franchise as they move ahead in a new cycle of the IPL.

During Pant's chat with Aakash Chopra after being named as the captain, the southpaw revealed his 'special' bond with the city of Lucknow.

What is LSG captain Rishabh Pant's special family connection with Lucknow?

Talkin to Aakash on his YouTube channel, Pant spoke about his mother hailing from the city og Lucknow and the connection he has with the city,

"My mother is from Lucknow. I have been here a lot. Not many people know but I have a long-lasting connection with the city. I have been here a lot with my maternal family who lived near the airport. I have roamed around the whole city," told Pant.

Rishabh has previously played 111 matches for the Delhi Capitals (previously Daredevils) over the span of 2016 to 2024 and has scored 3284 runs including a century to his name.

This is the first time he will be moving away from the Delhi-based franchise while the LSG has also moved on from KL Rahul as the skipper after making 2 back-to-back playoffs in their first two years.
