However, the former India batter, Manoj Tiwary, who has represented the Kings in 2018, has a different take on the team's performances as he made a bold prediction that the Iyer-led side won't win the coveted title this year.

Following the wash-out at the Eden Gardens, where PBKS batted first and posted 201/4 in 20 overs, and KKR managing to play only one over, Tiwary took to X and criticised the PBKS think tank for not trusting the domestic talents in their ranks, despite their good form in the current season.

"My gut feeling says that Punjab team will not be able to win the IPL trophy this season because what I saw today when they were batting was, the coach didn’t send Indian inform batters Nehal Wadera and Shasank Singh. Instead, he trusted his foreign players to deliver, but they couldn't and clearly showed a lack of confidence in Indian players down the order.
