PBKS had put up a total of 122 runs in just 10.1 overs when the game got suspended and it was later confirmed that it had been called off.

The match was initially halted due to the floodlights going off after the end of the first half of the first innings, where Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh added another fifty to their season.

Why was the PBKS vs DC match called off?

The Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match, which was a must-win game for DC and a crucial match for the Kings' bid for the top-2 spot, as per the official word has been called off due to a technical malfunction.

"The Punjab Kings v Delhi Capitals match (Match#58) in Tata IPL was forced to be abandoned due to a significant technical failure at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala," a statement from the IPL said. "Due to a power outage in the area, one of the light towers at the HPCA stadium malfunctioned. BCCI regrets the inconvenience caused to the in-stadium attendees."

However, as per multiple reports, it also has to do a lot with the security reasons, citing the attacks in different regions of the country as an incident of the cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan.

As per the latest on 22:20 hours (IST) May 8, there is no official news regarding the rescheduling of the match. The updates are currently awaited.
