The reverse fixture at the iconic Eden Gardens saw RCB emerge victorious as they clinched a 7-wicket victory while chasing a target of 175, thanks to fifties from Phil Salt and Virat Kohli.
KKR desperately needed a win in this game, as their qualification hopes were hanging by a thread. The match was washed out without a single ball being bowled due to the persistent rain. As a result, KKR became the fourth team to be knocked out of this year's competition.
RCB, on the other hand, need one more point to confirm their top spot, as they currently have 17 points to their name. Their qualification isn't guaranteed yet, as five teams can still finish on 17 points. Their net run-rate could prove to be a deciding factor.
Meanwhile, RCB have announced that they will refund ticket holders for the cancelled IPL 2025 game.
