Did BCCI hold any emergency meeting?

No, according to Devajit Saikia, the board didn’t have any urgent meeting on Thursday. He said the reports floating around were not true.

"There was no emergency meeting yesterday. The day has just started, we will assess the situation and take a call on the IPL over the course of the day" Saikia told PTI.

This was said after news channels and social media started spreading claims of a meeting held late at night. But the BCCI seems to be in no hurry and wants to first see how things unfold.

What went wrong in Dharamsala?

The match began late due to rain, but the trouble started when the lights at the HPCA Stadium went out while Punjab Kings were batting. At the time, they were in a strong position with 122/1 in just 10.1 overs.

First, it looked like a floodlight failure. But then came reports of a serious security issue. Soon, the stadium was evacuated as a precaution. Most of the 23,000-capacity stadium was filled at the time.

On their way out, many fans shouted anti-Pakistan slogans. This was after Pakistan reportedly tried to attack Indian military sites using drones during the same night.

What happened to the players and support staff?

Both teams had taken out of Dharamsala carefully. Since the local airport and nearby ones in Kangra and Chandigarh were shut for safety reasons, the teams were sent to Pathankot by road. From there, a special train will take them to Delhi.
