In the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk, Yuzvendra Chahal delivered one of the most dramatic overs of the season. He pulled off a stunning hat-trick in the 19th over that turned the game on its head.
At one point, CSK looked set to cross the 200-run mark comfortably. But Punjab Kings - desperate for a breakthrough - found their saviour in Chahal.

With momentum firmly with Chennai, Punjab skipper Shreyas Iyer rolled the dice by turning to Chahal - hoping for a late twist. Chahal dismissed Dhoni on the second ball of the over - a good comeback after he was hit for a six a ball prior.

Earlier in the game, Chahal had been hit by Sam Curran and Dewald Brevis. But Iyer held Chahal’s overs for the death, especially with MS Dhoni at the crease, who hasn’t had the best of records against wrist-spinners recently.
Chahal’s final figures - 4 wickets in 3 overs - don’t tell the full story. His spell derailed CSK’s innings, reducing them from 177/5 after 18 overs to just 190 all out in the 20th over.
