The 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is all set to get underway with a grand opening ceremony on August 29th. The ceremony will also witness a special moment as the Indian kabaddi legend Pardeep Narwal will be felicitated for his invaluable contributions to the sport.

Pardeep Narwal, famously known as the 'Dubki King,' will be honoured by the PKL on Friday, August 29th. Narwal has been one of the greatest Kabaddi players to have ever graced the sport and his impact on Indian Kabaddi has been huge.

The Indian legend called time on his career as a player earlier this June. Over the years, his role in the Indian as well as the franchise setup has been integral, and he has set high benchmarks.
Narwal is the all-time leading scorer of raid points in the history of PKL. He was also the first player to have breached the 1000 raid points mark, scripting history.
"I’ve had the privilege of playing alongside him and watching him break records that may never be touched. Beyond the mat, he’s a true friend and a wonderful human being. His legacy as the Dubki King will live on forever in the world of kabaddi," said Manjeet Chillar, a former teammate.
Pardeep Narwal's PKL journey
Narwal ended the Pro Kabaddi League as the all-time highest raid points scorer. With 1,801 raid points to his name, the legend sits above any other player in the history of the league.

His PKL journey started with the Bengaluru Bulls, before moving to the Patna Pirates, a team which he led to three consecutive titles. His journey with the Pirates is one of the key highlights of his career as a PKL player.
Narwal also represented the UP Yoddhas before ending his glorious career with his first team, the Bengaluru Bulls, bringing his career full circle.
His record-breaking performance came in season 5, where he amassed 369 raid points playing for the Patna Pirates. He also gave the league a moment of history when he pulled off an eight-point raid during the playoffs that season.
Such a glorious career definitely deserves all the applause, appreciation, and respect, and the PKL's gesture for such an athlete would most definitely be an emotional and proud moment in the history of Indian Kabaddi.
