The 2025 Formula One season is returning from its three-week summer hiatus, as the show rolls into Belgium at the historic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps this weekend.

Last time out at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix, it was a home win for Englishman Lando Norris, who earned his second successive race win, and his fourth of the campaign, to keep the pressure on McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri at the top of the Drivers’ Championship.

Piastri and Norris are separated by just eight points at the top of the leaderboard, but they are both well clear of Max Verstappen in third, with Mercedes' George Russell a bit further back on the Red Bull driver.

Now, as we head to Belgium, things are continuing to heat up and drama is to be expected. Let's take a look at the latest betting for this weekend.

F1 Belgian GP: Latest predictions and odds for this weekend's Grand Prix

  • Lewis Hamilton's career is into its latter stages, but he is still capable of pulling off impressive drives, and he won this Grand Prix last year, finishing ahead of Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc. Another Hamilton win remains unlikely but he is among the favourites at a best-priced 20/1 with AK Bets.
  • That said, the leading favourites for the race, and pretty much every race this season so far, remain the two McLaren drivers, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri hard to separate by Sky Bet, both currently priced up at 13/8.
  • This weekend also sees an additional opportunity for wagering, as we see the return of the Sprint Race. Both Piastri and Norris are locked at 7/4 to win that with Bet365.

F1 Belgian GP: Best bet

TSN's Pick: Oscar Piastri to win Sprint Race (7/4 with Bet365)

It may not seem too adventurous to pick Piastri but the Australian showed good rhythm on the Belgian track last year as he finished second behind Hamilton, and he has an even more competitive car this year.

Over the shorter Sprint format the raw pace of the McLaren's should be hard to beat and while we are expecting a closely fought contest with team-mate Norris, we think Piastri should have the edge.

How to bet on F1: Types of F1 betting

There are lots of different markets available to bet on in F1. Here's some of the main ones:

  • Race Winner — Bet on who will win a specific Grand Prix race.
  • Drivers' World Championship Winner — Bet on the driver who will win the entire season.
  • Constructors' World Championship Winner — Bet on the team that will win the entire season. Sometimes bookmakers such as Sky Bet will also have "Without the Favourite" markets, and in recent years as teams have become more dominant this market has become increasingly popular.
  • Fastest Qualifier — Predict who will qualify fastest and start the race on pole position.
  • Sprint Race Winner — A market that has developed in recent times, with inclusion of shorter version of the full-length race, to add excitement but also jeopardy to the season.
  • To Win Qualifying and Race —Make a double bet on the driver to get pole position in qualifying and to win the Sunday race as well.

As well as these main markets, bookmakers with a great F1 betting experience like Paddy Power or Bet365 also offer several other interesting markets and opportunities to wager for serious F1 fans. For example:

  • Fastest Lap — Bet on who will achieve the fastest lap of the race.
  • Constructor Race Winner — Which team will have the winning driver at the chequered flag.
  • Head-to-Head Winner (driver matchups) — Bet on which of two drivers will finish higher in the race.
  • Podium Finish — Bet on a driver to finish in the top three in the race.
  • Finishing Position — Bet on a driver to finish inside the top six, top 10 or just in the points in a particular GP race.
  • Number of Classified Cars — Bet on the number of cars that will finish the race. You can often find over/under markets which can give you a better chance of landing your bet.
  • Safety Car — Bet on whether a safety car will be deployed during a particular race.
