West Ham vs. Chelsea prediction, lineups, odds and bet builder tips for Premier League clash image

The 2025/26 Premier League got underway last weekend and there were some really surprising results, with some teams producing performances that suggested a difficult season ahead.

West Ham United were one of those sides as the Irons, coming into the season with already low expectations, were beaten 3-0 by newly promoted Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, delivering a woeful second-half performance.

Chelsea head across the capital city and to the London Stadium on the back of a frustrating goalless draw at home to Crystal Palace after a very short pre-season due to their exploits in the United States, where they won the FIFA Club World Cup.

This London derby features two teams who could do with a result to build momentum and The Sporting News brings you a preview and prediction of the clash.

West Ham vs. Chelsea team news

  • Graham Potter is under pressure but unlikely to ring the changes, mainly because the Hammers’ squad is so average and lacking quality. Jarrod Bowen remains their main threat in the final third.
  • There are suggestions that Estevao could make his first start for Chelsea this weekend, while Josh Acheampong is expected to keep his place in the heart of the Blues defence alongside Trevoh Chalobah.
