David Beckham and Conor McGregor just struck up a friendship in the most unlikely way. The former soccer legend, 50, and Irish UFC star, 37, had a chance meet-and-greet while cruising the high seas on their multi-million luxury yachts.
McGregor was clearly star-struck by the meeting, as he boasted about the encounter with his 46.6 million followers on social media over the weekend.
"David Beckham, what a guy! Great to meet you and the fam finally, a big inspiration for me growing up," he captioned the post shared to Instagram. "The Beckham dynasty, an absolute powerhouse that COMMANDS FULL RESPECT! #YachtNeighbours," the fighter added.
McGregor included several sweet photos posing with David and family in his IG photo dump. In one snap, the Inter Miami owner stood besideMcGregor and two of his sons, Cruz, 20, and Romeo, 22, for a selfie. Another snap showed the two athletes standing alone with McGregor's arm around David's shoulder.
The Irish fighter also shared a video showing the soccer star's $20 million yacht pulling into the harbor next to his own vessel. The soccer star's yacht can be easily picked out on the water, thanks to the unique "Seven" lettering on the vessel, which references the No. 7 jersey number he used to wear while playing soccer.

David Beckham and Victoria Beckham pack on PDA on $20 million yacht
It looks like David had a great time during his lavish trip on the high seas.
In snaps circulating online, the soccer star and his wife of 25 years, Victoria Beckham, 51, were spotted packing on PDA as they cruised along the Amalfi Coast in Italy on their $20 million yacht.
Photos shared by "Page Six" showed Victoria rocking a black lace dress, as a shirtless David wrapped his arm around his wife's bottom, while embracing her in a hug.
The family's European holiday included a sweet double date with chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife, Tana Ramsay.
