It had looked like Eberechi Eze was destined to join Tottenham Hotspur from Crystal Palace.

The Palace star looked emotional following the Eagles' draw with Chelsea on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.

However, Spurs' biggest rivals have got one over them in securing a deal for Eze.

Sky Sports has reported that "Arsenal have agreed a £67.5m deal with Crystal Palace for Eberechi Eze."

Why have Arsenal suddenly come in for Eberechi Eze?

Kai Havertz is expected for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury.

The Gunners do not want to be left short in their forward line, as that was their undoing last season.

Mikel Arteta's side has bolstered its attack this transfer window, notably with the signing of striker Victor Gyokeres.

Eze can play attacking midfield and on the wing; he will now be a great option for Arteta.

It is a dream move for Arsenal fan Eze, who spent time in the Gunners' academy.
