Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez has insisted that he was never tempted by rumors of a transfer to the Premier League earlier this summer.
The 22-year-old instead reaffirmed his commitment to Barcelona, stating that he never had any intention of leaving the club.
Fermin scored twice as Barca ran riot over Valencia on Sunday (September 14) with a 6-0 win at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
He opened the scoring by slotting home coolly from a Ferran Torres pass in the 29th minute, before adding a second after the break with a low strike from distance.

Fermin brushes off transfer talk
Fermin addressed the rumors over his future in a post-match interview with Spanish media outlet Movistar.
The Spaniard was linked with a move to England late in the summer transfer window, with rumors floating of a £69 million transfer to Chelsea.
But he has now dismissed the noise as speculation and stressed that his focus has always been on Barcelona.

“It's true that I've been calm. Not everything that has been said is true, I do not really want to go into this,” he said.
“My intention has always been to be here for many years. I never doubted it.
“Yes, there was always speculation, but I have always wanted to be here, and I will fight to be here for many years.”
Fermin joined La Masia, Barcelona’s youth academy in 2016, aged 13, and made his La Liga debut under former manager Xavi Hernandez in 2023.
He has since gone on to make 62 appearances for the Blaugrana, scoring 16 goals across competitions, and has established himself as a vital part of Hansi Flick’s squad.
Fermin will still have a chance to encounter the Premier League, though, as Barcelona travel to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle United in their Champions League opener on Thursday (September 18).
