A Premier League club has been urged to sign Jamie Vardy as the player is available for a free transfer.
The 38-year-old is currently without a club as he departed Leicester City this summer after 12 seasons spent with The Foxes.
In his time at the King Power Stadium, Vardy helped the club win the Premier League and scored 200 goals for the side.
The former England international has recently emerged as a target for Celtic and Napoli, with a potential move to the former being touted as it would reunite him with former Leicester boss, Brendan Rodgers.
However, former Everton defender Alan Stubbs believes The Toffees should go after Vardy due to the team's existing issues in front of goal.

David Moyes' side struggled in their opening game of the season away to Leeds United on Monday night (August 18), with The Toffees only generating one shot on target in the 1-0 defeat.

Stubbs keen on Everton making a move for Vardy
Beto started as the lone striker against Leeds, while new signing Thierno Barry was thrown on right after Lukas Nmecha gave the home side the lead from the penalty spot after 84 minutes.
Stubbs feels Vardy would be a solid addition to Everton's striker pool as his game varies compared to the club's current frontmen.
"I think he’s (Vardy) very different to what we’ve got. We’ve got two very similar strikers (Beto and Barry), two big lads but we haven’t got anyone who’s that direct and most importantly, a proven goalscorer," he told talkSport.
Also, the ex-Toffee believes that his old club's current crop of creative players would cherish playing with a striker like Vardy.
"You look at Iliman Ndiaye, Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, they’re players who are looking to slide balls in down the side. They are looking for a clever player to run onto them," Stubbs explained.
"I’ve got to be honest, I think Vardy is a perfect player for Everton right now," he added.
Vardy is yet to make a decision on his next club, but he will not have to rush into one as free agents are permitted to join clubs outside of the designated transfer windows.
Everton will be hoping creating chances and scoring is not an issue in the team's next Premier League fixture at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday (August 24).
