Liverpool look ready to 'go again' in their attempt to sign Alexander Isak before the Premier League transfer window closes.
The Sweden international has outlined his determination to leave Newcastle United this summer after missing the Magpies preseason tour of Singapore and South Korea.
Isak has told Eddie Howe he wants to move on before the September 1 deadline and the former Real Sociedad star is prepared to refuse a recall to the squad if necessary.
Despite Isak's insistence on wanting to leave St. James' Park, the 25-year-old is under contract at Newcastle until 2028, and the club hierarchy are prepared to demand a Premier League record £150m transfer fee.
Both sides start the new season unsure over which of them Isak will be playing for by September and the saga could do right down to the wire.
Arne Slot enjoyed a superb first season in charge on Merseyside, winning a debut top-flight title, but he wants more in 2025/26.

PL legend backs Isak to secure Liverpool's Champions League dream
Despite their success on the domestic front, Liverpool fell short in Europe, as they were dumped out in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 by eventual winners PSG.
Isak only has one season of Champions League experience at Newcastle, but former winner and Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham, believes he can propel Liverpool onto a new level in the UCL.
"Success for Isak is winning the treble for Liverpool, and I think he can do that," Sheringham told Snabbare.
"He might have to change his game slightly as teams play differently at Newcastle than they do at Liverpool.

"He'll have to play with his back to goal a little more, rather than running in behind, but he can do everything as a player.
"He's proven it at this level. He can score goals against all the centre-halves out there. He will have no problem fitting into Liverpool's system."
Last season, only Mohamed Salah scored more Premier League goals than Isak, with 23 compared to 29, and he finished third in the 2023/24 Golden Boot rankings with 21 goals.
