Liverpool continued their superb pattern of late winning goals as Arne Slot's side dug deep to secure a 3-2 UEFA Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid.
On the back of a 100% start to the Premier League season, with four wins from four, the Reds faced the challenge of a UCL opener against Diego Simeone's visitors.
The early tension was eased as Liverpool stormed into a 2-0 lead inside the first 10 minutes, via Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah, before Atletico hit back with a Marcos Llorente double either side of the break.
As has become a habit for Liverpool so far in 2025/26 there was a late sting in the tail, as captain Virgil van Dijk nodded home an added time winner, and Anfield exploded.
A battling performance - and a sixth goal scored after the 88-miunte mark this season - marked another sensational European night on Merseyside.
Almost lost in the noise of such a result was the debut of Premier League record breaker Alexander Isak, as Slot opted to throw the Sweden international in from the start, in a bold move from the Dutchman.

Slot had indicated Isak was only match-fit enough to play 45 minutes, but he lasted 58, before being replaced by Hugo Ekitike.
Despite not managing to find the back of the net on his first appearance, Slot was delighted with the extra minutes, and indicated it shows the difference Premier League experience makes - compared to Florian Wirtz's mixed start.

"I was positively surprised by how fit Alexander was during the 60 minutes," as per the Liverpool Echo.
"That maybe tells you it might be different to sign a 20-year-old from a different league than a 25-year-old used to playing in this league.
"Although he only trained for two weeks, he has so many games under his belt in this league, that he's probably more able to be ready for 60.
"I wasn’t surprised by his quality because that’s what we all know. But it’s nice to see a player start the way has, like Hugo Ekitike [who] started the same. Now we have to build him up. He’s not going to play 90 vs. Everton."
Slot's points on some of his new signings taking a little extra time to adjust to the Premier League is more centred on Wirtz than Ekitike - with the latter already scoring three goals.
Fans remain behind £100m man Wirtz, despite not scoring or assisting in five starts, but Slot could face a call on his role as he looks to fit Isak and Ekitike into the starting XI.
