Man City vs. Man Utd prediction, lineups, TV channel, bet builder and 50/1 odds for City win image

The Premier League returned yesterday after the first international break of the season and we have now reached the showpiece clash of the weekend - the Manchester Derby at the Etihad.

Manchester City started the season with an impressive 4-0 hammering of Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, before the fallibilities from last season showed once again with a 2-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur and then a 2-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium.

Manchester United showed signs of improvement over the summer in pre-season but it was a very tricky opening month for Ruben Amorim. A defeat to Arsenal and a draw with Fulham was followed by the humiliation of an EFL Cup penalty shootout loss to League Two Grimsby Town. They did most recently score a last-gasp winner against Burnley at Old Trafford.

The Sporting News has all the latest odds, tips and predictions for this clash at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, as well as two juicy bookmaker offers.

That includes 50/1 or 80/1 for new customers on Paddy Power depending on who you think will win, while you can also get 50/1 for City to have a shot on target as a new customer on Sky Bet.

Man City vs. Man Utd prediction

Neither of these two sides have shown much fluency, but City just appear so easily rattled. United may have been comical already this year, but the performance level in the Premier League hasn’t been that bad and Amorim has shown may well have Pep Guardiola’s number, with two victories, for Sporting CP and United, in the space of a month last autumn.

The Sporting News Score Prediction:

Man City 1-2 Man Utd

Yes, you read that right - a United win! If you agree with our score prediction for Man City vs Man United, why not take 80/1 odds for United to win as a new customer on Paddy Power? It is part of a dual offer for new sign ups - a City win can be backed at 50/1. Full T&C's via the offer below.

  • Man City remain among the title favourites despite losing two of their first three matches.
  • City could make a major change in goal with Gianluigi Donnarumma making his debut.
  • United also have a decision to make in goal but Senne Lammens is unlikely to start.
  • There are fantastic sign up offers for the match for new users on Paddy Power and Sky Bet.

Man City vs. Man Utd lineups

Here's how we think these two sides this weekend. Pep Guardiola has a decision to make following the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Matheus Cunha is among a host of derby day absentees but Amorim is expected to keep the faith with Altay Bayindir despite the signing of Senne Lammens. Sesko could make his first league start.
