Elliot Anderson was England's bright spark in a subdued victory over Andorra last weekend.

The midfielder then backed his performance up with another solid game against Serbia on Tuesday night.

It has been a meteoric rise for Anderson, who was part of the England U21 side that won the European Championship over the summer.

The 22-year-old earned his senior call-up due to his fantastic form for Nottingham Forest

Anderson was previously at Newcastle United, but was sold as the Magpies needed to ensure they abided by the Premier League's profitability and sustainability regulations.

The Forest star could be on the move again, with one of the biggest clubs in the world interested in his services.

Should Elliot Anderson depart Nottingham Forest?

According to TEAMtalk, "Ruben Amorim has been assured he will have funds to work with in the January transfer window and Manchester United’s early planning has put Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson on the radar."

In usual circumstances, leaving Forest for United would be a no-brainer. However, we are in a period of decline for the United.

The Red Devils are without European football, and even lost to League Two side Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup this season.

Forest, on the other hand, is in the Europa League and has just appointed a former winner of the tournament, Ange Postecoglou, as their manager.

Anderson is starring for Forest, and this is a campaign with a World Cup at the end of it. Therefore, it might be wise for the midfielder to stay where he is to ensure he makes it to North America.
