There were bombshell reports yesterday that ongoing friction at Nottingham Forest could lead to Nuno Espirito Santo losing his job.

Fuel was then added to the fire by Nuno, saying in a press conference that his relationship with the owner Evangelos Marinakis, had changed.

Speculation has begun that Nuno might not be in charge for Forest's Premier League match against Crystal Palace tomorrow.

This is a huge Premier League tie as Forest were involved in Palace's demotion to the Europa Conference League, with Nuno's side taking their place in the Europa League.

The managers being linked with replacing Nuno have both won the Europa League. According to The Sun, "Ange Postecoglou is a contender for the City Ground job - along with Jose Mourinho."

Postecoglou won the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur last season, but was let go following poor form in the Premier League.

The Australian is a free agent, but Mourinho is the manager of Fenerbahce. It would be difficult for Forest to get Mourinho, especially with the Turkish season having already started.

Mourinho has also been backed by Fenerbahce with notable signings this window, including Jhon Duran and Edson Alvarez, who is expected to complete his move there soon.

The Portuguese coach won the Europa League with Manchester United, and a return to the Premier League for him would be significant.
