Last season, following Nottingham Forest's 2-2 draw with Leicester City in the Premier League, there was a heated exchange at the City Ground.

The owner, Evangelos Marinakis, stormed down onto the pitch to confront the manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

It looked like Marinakis was furious at Forest dropping points in their battle to qualify for Europe.

Sky Sports' Gary Neville also perceived it to be this way and said that Nuno should be planning his exit from the club.

However, Forest then claimed that Marinakis' actions were due to his anger that the injured Taiwo Awoniyi had kept on playing.

Will ongoing friction lead to Nottingham Forest sacking Nuno Espirito Santo?

Nuno recently revealed that he was not happy with his squad and the club's work so far in the transfer market.

Now, Matteo Moretto posted on X (translated from Italian): "Nottingham Forest is considering sacking Nuno Espírito Santo."

The journalist also added that Ange Postecoglou could replace Santo. The Australian won the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur last season, but was then replaced by Thomas Frank.
