Formula 1 heads to the streets of Baku this weekend for the highly anticipated Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
The Baku City Circuit is a unique mix of high-speed straights and a notoriously narrow, technical old town section, a combination that often leads to drama and thrilling racing.
After the end of the European season, this is the first of a series of flyaway races, and the teams will be looking to get the final push for the championship title underway with a strong performance.

Recent Form and Past Winners
The Baku City Circuit has produced some memorable moments and surprise winners in recent years.
In 2024, current championship leader Oscar Piastri took the victory after a dramatic race that saw both Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz Jr. crash out while battling for the podium.
In 2023, Perez won the race, becoming the first driver to win the Azerbaijan Grand Prix twice.
Other winners have included Max Verstappen (2022) and Daniel Ricciardo (2017).
Charles Leclerc is a qualifying specialist here, having taken pole position for the last four consecutive years, but has yet to convert a pole into a race victory.
