In a world where the fight for equality between men's and women's basketball is still burning bright, there are arguments as to whether or not WNBA players deserve a salary that mirrors their male counterparts in the NBA. 

Some might say that the league's recent boom in popularity will help the league make more of a profit down the line. But according to an account on X that seemed to be run by Golden State Warriors star forward Draymond Green, it seemed to chalk up the financial opposition to a difference in skill. 

The keyword here is that "seemed" to be run by Green, because the real Green wasn't involved.

What did "Draymond Green" say?

According to the X account "HoopMixOnly," user "money23green," which is Green's handle on the website, responded to Reese's wanting of NBA-level money with a simple six-word response: "Do a 360 windmill dunk first."

Before you gear up and rip into the four-time champion, let's take a look at why this was NOT the real Draymond Green. 

The main reason? Green's handle on the site is "Money23Green," with the "M" and "G" in his handle capitalized. The account that responded to Reese's claim was in all lowercase.

Plus, "money23green" was the actual name of the account, not the handle. Not to mention, the two accounts have two totally different profile pictures. 

Draymond Green's X profile has his name as the name of the actual verified account, with "@Money23Green" as the handle. The fake account also shows to be verified, but if you give Elon Musk a pretty penny, any account on the site can boast that shiny blue checkmark next to their account name. 

Additionally, Reese's quote about wanting to be paid like NBA players is fake. So this is a fake tweet responding to a fake quote.
