Former Penn State star Micah Parsons remains without a contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys, a situation that seems illogical.
With news that T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers is still looking for a new extension, the Cowboys have to understand that he'll only be more expensive if he gets a deal.
When searching for what could play out, Blogging The Boys recently came up with some good ideas. They discussed how Parsons could become more expensive over the next few weeks to months if the Cowboys don't reach a deal with the former Penn State star before Watt takes his.
“In the end, that is bad news for the Cowboys and their salary cap, as waiting to ‘call Micah’s agent’ may end up costing them quite a bit of money in the end. The Cowboys have struggled to get ahead of deals with their star players in the past, and it sure sounds like waiting on the Parsons’ deal will only hurt the Cowboys in the end,” they wrote.
Jerry Jones has continued to make questionable decisions when it comes to his players, but holding out on Parsons simply doesn't make much sense.
The only thing that might be playing in Jones' favor is that Parsons has continued to show up to things.
If Parsons skipped OTAs, said he wouldn't show up to training camp, and other factors are considered, it's possible that the Cowboys would’ve gotten this deal done.

However, he's been on record saying that he wants to win a Super Bowl, and him not showing up to those things doesn't get the Cowboys any closer to that.
Still, perhaps he and his agent will eventually decide to do things a bit differently.
