The Giants and Cowboys faced off on Sunday for a Week 2 afternoon game. The two teams are bitter rivals, but both entered the game 0-1, and aren't two of the stronger teams in the NFL.
That was all out the window, though, as we got a game of the year candidate already this early in the season.
Part of that was due to a masterclass-level performance from Russell Wilson, who played in just his second game as a Giant.

It's hard for Giants fans to look at the positives after losing a game they felt like they had won at several points in the game.
Russell Wilson had one of his best performances, statistically, in his entire career despite dropping the game in a 37-40 loss.
Wilson threw for 450 yards in the game, the second most in a regular-season game by him in his career (via StatMuse).

Russ also accomplished something no Giants' QB had done in four decades.
According to @NFLonCBS, "Russell Wilson is the first Giants QB with 400 Pass Yards, 3 Pass TD and 0 INT in a single game in 40 years."
It's been a rough stretch for the Giants QB-wise, since Eli Manning retired, as they've had trouble finding a consistent QB for their team.
It's no secret that Wilson isn't their long-term plan, but it's good to see him play this well after a lackluster Week 1 performance against the Commanders.
The Giants have virtually had no long ball plays in their arsenal in the past few years, and Wilson dropped several impressive dimes against the Cowboys, opening up the options for them moving forward.
New York's schedule doesn't get much easier next week, as they'll face the 2025 AFC Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, at home in Week 3 in a Sunday Night Football primetime match.
