The Pittsburgh Steelers held off a furious late-game comeback by the Minnesota Vikings to secure a narrow 24-21 victory in an instant classic played at Croke Park, Dublin.

What started as an efficient, dominant showing by the Steelers turned into a defensive struggle, culminating in a tense final drive.

The Steelers' offense, led by veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, appeared to take control early, despite the absence of running back Jaylen Warren.

After the Vikings settled for two early field goals (3-0 and 6-0), Rodgers immediately responded with an 80-yard strike to DK Metcalf for a touchdown.

Running back Kenneth Gainwell, filling in admirably, scored two short rushing touchdowns (his second putting the Steelers up 21-6) and finished the day with 72+ yards on the ground.

The Steelers defense also made their presence felt, highlighted by an interception and a sack from T.J. Watt, helping build a seemingly insurmountable 24-6 lead in the third quarter.

However, the Vikings found their footing late.

Quarterback Carson Wentz, after struggling with a fumble and the Watt interception earlier, led a desperate charge.

Zavier Scott recorded a touchdown, converting a two-point attempt to make it 24-14.

The momentum truly shifted when Wentz found Jordan Addison for an enormous 81-yard play, setting up an Addison touchdown to shrink the deficit to 24-21 with minutes remaining.

With the game on the line, the Steelers punted the ball back to the Vikings with 1:01 left.

The final drive was dramatic: a potential game-ending interception by James Pierre Jr. was overturned on review.

Given a second life, Wentz drove the team forward, but his final 4th-and-long attempt fell incomplete, allowing the Steelers to run out the clock and seal the hard-fought 24-21 victory.
