The couple announced their engagement earlier this week with photos from their yacht proposal. In the carousel of images posted on Instagram, it showed the former Minnesota Vikings linebacker was shown on one knee with DJ Millie (born Chelsea Miller). In several photos that followed, the electronic dance DJ showed off her large oval-cut diamond ring as the couple beamed with excitement.

"8.10.25," Millie captioned the post.

DJ Millie and Barr went public with their relationship in 2023 but have kept their love story behind the scenes. Millie is the daughter of bassist Bryson Miller and has made a name for herself as a Los Angeles-based DJ. Barr, on the other hand, is a four-time Pro Bowler who recently announced his retirement from the NFL after 10 seasons.

In a lengthy post on Instagram, Barr shared his

“10 years in the NFL… what a blessing,” Barr began his Instagram post. “I’m incredibly thankful and deeply humbled by the journey this game has taken me on. From Pop Warner, the Loyola Cubs, the UCLA Bruins, the Minnesota Vikings, the Dallas Cowboys, and finally back to the Vikings—what an unforgettable ride it’s been.”

For the past 25 years, football has been at the center of my life. I’ve dedicated myself fully to the game, and in return, it has given me more than I could’ve ever imagined—lifelong memories, unbreakable bonds, and a platform to grow, lead, and inspire.

He then gave a shoutout to his friends and family for aiding him in his success before thanking his teammates, coaches, and team staff.

“To my friends and family: Thank you. Your love and support over the years have meant everything. Whether cheering from the stands or holding me down behind the scenes, you’ve been my foundation. I’ve always played for you as much as in front of you. I love you all more than words can express,” he continued.

“To my teammates, coaches, front offices, and everyone behind the scenes: Thank you for making this experience what it was. You shared the grind, the glory, the heartbreak, and the triumphs. The game itself is fleeting—but the friendships, the brotherhood, the memories.. those will last forever. There’s truly nothing like stepping on that field with your guys on a Sunday afternoon. Nothing,” he wrote.

He then thanked his alma maters, Loyola, and UCLA, as well as the Vikings, for helping in his career.

“Thank you for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to represent your programs. You gave me a platform to grow as a man, support my family, and live out my dreams. I’ll forever carry the pride of these institutions with me,” he added.

Barr later addressed how much football has adapted him as a person before thanking himself.

“You were my first love. In all your egg-shaped, brown glory—you gave me the world. But you weren’t always easy,” he said of the obstacles while playing football.  “You challenged me with injuries, setbacks, surgeries, and sacrifices. You took a lot—but gave even more. You taught me how to win, how to lose, how to adapt, how to lead, how to show up, and how to keep going. I’ll carry those lessons for the rest of my life.”

“And finally, to myself: You did it, bro. You really did it. You stayed true to yourself, honored the process, respected the game, and brought people up with you. You never cheated the grind, never folded. I’m proud of you. You should be too,” he concluded.

Now that Barr is closing his chapter in the NFL, he is ready to embark on a new one with Millie.
