It's no secret that LeBron James and Drake's relationship has been rocky following the Toronto rapper's last year's rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. While Drizzy has been dissing the Los Angeles Lakers forward on several songs following the battle, LeBron is finally speaking out on how he feels about their friendship.
In an interview with Speedy Mormon on Thursday (Sept. 18), LeBron shared that he has no hate for Drake despite them being at dissimilar points right now.
“Always wish him the best,” James said. “Obviously [we’re in] different places right now, currently. He’s doing his thing, I’m doing mine, but it’s always love for sure.”
Drake and LeBron formed a friendship around 2007, a few years before the rapper released his sophomore project, Take Care. The NBA star would support Drake with his music throughout the years like attending his 2010 Thank Me Later release party and starring in the "Forever" music video. The rapper would also attend NBA games in support of LeBron.
However, last year, when Drake and Kendrick's beef boiled over into a rap battle, LeBron was seen promoting the Compton rapper's diss tracks aimed at his friend. He also attended Kendrick's Pop Out event last year, as well as a video of him going viral dancing and rapping to the Compton native's "Not Like Us."

Drake peeped the shift in behavior from LeBron and seemingly addressed it on his first track after the beef.
“The world fell in love with the gimmicks, even my brothers got tickets, seemed like they loved every minute/ Just know the s–t is personal to us and wasn’t just business/ Analyzing behavioral patterns is somewhat suspicious,” Drake raps on "Fighting Irish," which dropped in January 2025. The lines could also be about several people who seemingly turned their back on Drake, like The Weeknd and DeMar DeRozan.
Not only did Drake address the switch-up, but he also reportedly got his LeBron tattoo covered and replaced it with NBA champion Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Drake has not yet responded to LeBron's statement.
