Travis Kelce isn't very happy with his performance in Kansas City's season opener in Brazil.
The Chiefs fell to the Los Angeles Chargers in a 27-21 loss on Friday, Sept. 5. While Kelce managed to score a 37-yard touchdown during the fourth quarter, he's still frustrated with his overall gameplay, especially the disastrous moment when he accidentally injured his teammate, Xavier Worthy.
Reflecting on the loss, the 35-year-old NFL tight end admitted on Wednesday's "New Heights" podcast that he just wasn't as ready as he thought heading into the game.
"I'll take the most accountability myself. I wasn't ready that first drive. I ran into one of my guys and offed him out of the game," Travis told his brother, co-host Jason Kelce. "I literally took one of my players out. That's one of the most frustrating parts. It's hard to get your juices back going knowing that you just hurt a guy."
"I've just got to be better, man. I'm 13 years in the league, there's no excuse for me running into my own guys like that. Worthy had his guy beat, we're out the gate and the game starts completely different," Kelce added.

After the disappointing loss, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters he's unsure of when Worthy will be able to return to the field. The team is currently taking his recovery day to day.
Kelce echoed Reid's comments on Wednesday, telling Jason he has no idea how long Worthy will be sidelined after their run-in, but he hopes he can get back "as fast as possible because he means so much to this team."
"He is going to take the league by storm when he gets back. He is one of our best players," Kelce said. "I run into him and all of a sudden, one of the biggest pieces of the game plan is out of the game. One of the fastest guys in the league - and speed kills in this league - and now they don't have to worry about that."
Kelce continued, "I owe my guy big time. X knows it. I felt like s—. I could barely even f—ing play the rest of that first half, but we geared it up once I found that he was in better spirits than I imagined at halftime."
