Though the Philadelphia Phillies have been a recent mainstay in the MLB playoffs, they have not been able to capture a World Series title.
The Phillies — headlined by a core of Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, Zack Wheeler and more — have had success in the regular season, but when it comes to the postseason, they have not captured the ultimate prize. Philadelphia made the World Series in 2022 before losing to the Houston Astros in six games, and it's been going backwards since; in 2023, the Phillies lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLCS, and in 2024, the New York Mets defeated Philadelphia in the NLDS.
Though, Philadelphia has appeared in its fair share of Fall Classics this century, but how many times has the World Series been won? Here is a look at the Phillies' World Series history:

How many World Series have the Phillies won?
The Phillies have won a World Series twice in club history.
The last time was in 2008 when the Phillies defeated the Rays in five games. Cole Hamels was named World Series MVP, pitching twice against the Rays, allowing just four earned runs on 10 total hits across 13.0 innings.
Before then, the Phillies' first championship came in 1980 against the Royals. Philadelphia defeated Kansas City in six games. Mike Schmidt received the MVP honor after smacking two home runs and seven RBIs against the Royals.

Which team has won the most World Series?
When it comes to World Series, there is one clear leader that won't be caught for quite some time, if at all — the Yankees.
New York has accumulated 27 rings over the years in 40 World Series appearances. That's 16 more than the next-closest club, the Cardinals. St. Louis has 11 titles, making the Yankees and Cardinals the only two organizations with double-digit World Series victories.
