Yankees vs. Blue Jays final score, results: Aaron Judge leads five-run comeback in Game 3 to keep season alive image

JUMP TO:

With the New York Yankees season on life support, The Captain came through.

Down 6-1 in the third inning, Aaron Judge led New York to a five-run comeback to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays 9-6 and extend the season.

Both starting pitchers struggled in this game, but Rodon specifically had issues with the Blue Jays. The lefty gave up a two-run home run to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the first inning, then surrendered four more runs before he was pulled from the game in the third inning.

The Yankees scored one run in the first, but they faced a 6-1 after two-and-a-half innings. However, New York chipped away, scoring two runs in the third, before Judge banged a three-run home run off the foul pole to tie the game in the fourth inning.

From there, Jazz Chisholm Jr. gave the Yankees the lead with a solo home run, and New York added two more runs for good measure. Then, a much-maligned Yankees bullpen shut down the Blue Jays offense, as Fernando Cruz, Camilo Doval, Tim Hill, Devin Williams and David Bednar combined for 6.1 shutout innings.

The win means New York forces a Game 4 in the Bronx on Wednesday night with a chance to send the series back to Toronto.

The Sporting News tracked live scores, updates and highlights from Game 3 of the 2025 ALDS between the Yankees and Blue Jays. Here's what happened.
