The Milwaukee Bucks have had analysts and fans pondering what they will do with superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason. Most have come to the consensus that he will be traded, with one of the top destinations being the Houston Rockets.
Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz took a swing at a trade proposal between the two teams, and it would give Milwaukee their future back without giving up many picks, and would give Houston Antetokounmpo. The trade would look like this:
Houston Rockets Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Milwaukee Bucks Receive: Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., Cam Whitmore, Aaron Holiday, 2025 first-round pick (via Phoenix Suns), 2027 first-round pick (via Phoenix Suns)
“The sad reality is that an Antetokounmpo trade needs to happen now to maximize his value, as the 30-year-old still has two guaranteed years remaining on his contract. This is a chance for Milwaukee to get a haul of draft picks and young players, including a really good selection in the 2025 draft,” Swartz wrote.
Houston’s 2025 pick via Phoenix has a chance of being a top pick, so on top of getting all those young stars, they would have a chance to draft a top prospect to also build around, such as Dylan Harper, Ace Bailey, or VJ Edgecombe.

If it doesn’t land that high but still in the top 10, the Bucks could still make that trade for at least that pick and some young stars and get a March Madness hero in Derik Queen.
Either way, a trade between the Rockets and Bucks is probably the best chance to maximize the rewards of trading Antetokounmpo. Now that both teams are out, getting talks started might be in their best interests.
