James Franklin may be under more pressure than most coaches this fall, and On3’s newest top-10 list reflects such mention.

The Penn State coach’s 100-plus wins are impressive, but the results remain the same: no national titles and only one Big Ten Championship win to show for it.

Franklin is one of three Big Ten coaches facing the most pressure based on the list at No. 8, according to Ari Wasserman.

It’s likely justified given the aforementioned, but Franklin’s team has a chance to be really good again. Like Illinois. Penn State has massive retention with its three main offensive weapons, including its quarterback, Drew Allar.

It remains to be seen whether the Nittany Lions can respond and take the next step in their College Football Playoff journey.
