On Wednesday, NBC Sports announced its lead college football broadcast teams for the 2025 season with more than 25 games broadcast on the NBC television network and/or streaming on Peacock.
Phil Simms returns to NBC Sports after a stint as the co-lead analyst from 1995-1998 for its NFL on NBC coverage alongside Paul Maguire and Dick Enberg on play-by-play, highlighted by calls of Super Bowls XXX and XXII.
Simms will have a three-game stint on Peacock, per NBC Sports' press release page, which begins with the No. 12-ranked Illinois Fighting Illini hosting the Western Illinois Leathernecks on Friday, Aug. 29 at 7:30 pm ET on Peacock, paired with Paul Burmeister (play-by-play).

Noah Eagle (play-by-play), Todd Backledge (analyst) and Kathryn Tappen (sideline reporter) return as the top announce team for Big Ten Saturday Night and will call all primetime games this season, highlighted by the No. 19 Texas A&M Aggies at the No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Sept. 13 at 7:30 pm ET.
NBC's 35th straight season of broadcasting Notre Dame football features Dan Hicks (play-by-play), Football Night In America's Jason Garrett (analyst) and Zora Stephenson (sidelines), for the majority of the home games played at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, IN.
Burmeister, along with Michael Grady will call Big Ten football games throughout the season, while FNIA's Chris Simms, Yogi Roth and Michael Robinson will provide analysis with Caroline Pineda on the sidelines on select games for NBC and Peacock.
