Week 1 of the 2025 College Football season is just days away, and one Big Ten team is slated to open their season against Tulane in New Orleans.

David Braun’s Northwestern Wildcats will take on the Green Wave Saturday, Aug. 30 at Yulman Stadium in their first matchup of the fall and tickets are practically free, with deals below $6 for a single ticket

It’s not a huge shock: the Wildcats aren’t exactly a Big Ten powerhouse, but the prices are notably low for a Week 1 game.

The most expensive ticket this week? Texas at Ohio State, with lowest deals starting at $354.

Braun’s Wildcats are facing a tough season outlook. Northwestern was one of two conference programs facing +50000 odds to win the Big Ten, alongside Barry Odom’s Purdue Boilermakers. Braun himself was ranked worst coach in the conference by CBS Sports just a few weeks ago.

Northwestern is expected to rely heavily on quarterback Preston Stone this fall following his transfer from SMU and former Wildcats’ starter and two-sport athlete Jack Lausch’s decision to pursue only baseball in Evanston. Despite the addition of Stone, some analysts aren’t optimistic the transfer will be able to have the impact Northwestern needs

Following the Wildcats’ trip to New Orleans, Northwestern will host a slew of home games: against non-conference opponents Western Illinois (Week 2) and UL Monroe (Week 5), and conference opponents No. 7 Oregon in Week 3 and UCLA in Week 4. They’ll face more ranked opponents later in the year, including No. 2 Penn State (Week 6), No. 14 Michigan (Week 10) and No. 12 Illinois (Week 12).
