The Denver Broncos could have a chance to get one of Sean Payton's favorite former players before the 2025 season kicks off.

The Broncos have been connected to New Orleans Saints gadget player Taysom Hill since Payton got to Denver, but he has remained in New Orleans. However, there are some who feel that Hill could be a player who no longer fits in with what the Saints are doing, and he could be cut this offseason.

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report feels that if Hill were to be cut, all of the other 31 teams in the league should be interested in bringing him in. The Saints would get back $10 million against the salary cap by cutting Hill, who is still used in many different situations for the Saints, but that role isn't as significant as when Payton was the team's head coach.

David Latham of Last Word on Sports feels a reunion would be great for both sides, and predicts that if Hill is cut, the Broncos could bring him in.

"Nobody loves Taysom Hill more than Sean Payton, so it only makes sense these two reunite away from the Saints. Payton brought the Broncos to the playoffs despite starting a rookie quarterback in Bo Nix while lacking proven weapons beyond wide receiver Courtland Sutton. Free agent signee Evan Engram will be the primary tight end in this passing attack, but the team could use someone like Hill to be the TE2 and add an extra dimension as a trick play threat", wrote Latham.

Hill can play tight end, but he excels when he steps in at quarterback for a play or two. He's an incredible threat with his feet and is able to grind out a first down in short-yardage situations or get the ball over the goal line down near the end zone. Then, just when the defense is expecting him to do that, he can drop back and throw a perfect deep ball right over the top of the defense.

Hill's best days came with the Saints when Drew Brees was the starting quarterback. Payton could easily replicate that dynamic with Hill and Bo Nix. If the Saints release Hill, Payton and the Broncos should jump on him.
