Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery were both at their best on Monday Night Football.
In the process, they tied a Detroit Lions record that had stood for 89 years.
The marks they hit: Both running backs ran for two touchdowns in the same game.
That only happened once before in Lions history, according to Football Reference.
The date was Nov. 15, 1936, and the New York Giants were visiting Detroit.
The Lions got two rushing touchdowns from Dutch Clark and another two from Ernie Caddel.
Clark ran 14 times for 62 yards, while Caddel carried 12 times for 153 yards.
Amazingly, neither led the Lions in carries that day. Ace Gutkowsky carried the ball 18 times for 75 yards but didn't score in a 38-0 Lions victory.
Back in 2025, Montgomery was actually the big play back on Monday night. He ran 12 times for 151 yards and two TDs.
Gibbs was a workhorse with 22 rushes for 67 yards and the two scores. Gibbs added five catches for 32 yards, while Monty had just a single catch.
The recipe worked. Jared Goff needed to throw only one touchdown, to Amon-Ra St. Brown, a week after he had thrown for five scores.
And the Lions are now 2-1 thanks to a throwback performance to 1936.
