The Colts’ wide receiver depth chart may already be set in stone, but Indy still got a massive first half performance against the Bengals from a veteran who’s looking for redemption.
Laquon Treadwell turned heads in Cincinnati with a monster 6 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown in the first half.

Treadwell has had a rocky NFL career. A former first-round pick of the Vikings in 2016, the now-30-year-old couldn’t make it work in Minnesota. He recorded just one season with 300+ receiving yards in his four years with the organization, failing to live up to the expectations of being a top selection.
He has since bounced around the league, spending time with the Falcons, Jaguars, Seahawks and Ravens before landing with the Colts in 2024.
Treadwell enjoyed a practice squad stint in Indianapolis and returned in 2025 looking to challenge for the roster. While the Colts have six wide outs who they’ve been vocal about being their group going into the year, Treadwell’s eye-opening performance to close the tune up period could land him a role either back with the Colts practice squad or potentially a roster spot elsewhere.
General manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen must decide what’s next for Treadwell by the 53-man roster deadline on Aug. 26.
