The curtain is about to fall on the NFL preseason. Before roster cuts shake things up next week, the Colts hit the road to Ohio to square off with the Bengals in their final warm-up clash on Saturday.
Colts boss Shane Steichen made it clear on Tuesday that the starters will be sitting out against the Bengals, meaning all the game-time reps under center will go to Riley Leonard and Jason Bean.
He also put any lingering doubts to rest by officially announcing Daniel Jones as the team’s QB1 moving forward.
On the other side, Cincinnati is also playing it safe. Zac Taylor plans to rest his core stars, using the opportunity to evaluate depth pieces and keep his key contributors healthy for Week 1.
The Bengals head into this matchup with momentum, having rolled past Washington 31-17 last week in a polished showing. Their starters delivered their sharpest preseason outing yet, offering fans a glimpse of what could be another strong campaign.
