The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-0, and getting set for a matchup with another 2-0 team, as they will host the Los Angeles Rams in a rematch of the 2024-25 divisional round where Philadelphia just squeaked out a win over Matthew Stafford and Co. Ahead of that, though, their top player was hit with a hefty fine for a hit in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs - but it wasn't a defender.
Running back Saquon Barkley is being fined nearly $50,000 for lowering his head and running through Chiefs cornerback Chmarri Conner.
"The NFL fined Eagles RB Saquon Barkley $46,371 for unnecessary roughness/use of the helmet on this play last week," Tom Pelissero reports. "No flag was thrown."

Barkley lowered his head and ran through Conner. The NFL has emphasized not lowering your head on either side of the ball to initiate contact. This isn't the first fine of its kind. Another Pennsylvania running back, Jaylen Warren of the Pittsburgh Steelers, was hit with a similar fined in 2024 and 2023 for blocks in which he lowered his helmet.
