The Pittsburgh Steelers trimmed their offseason roster down to 53 players by the Tuesday 4 p.m. ET deadline and will now focus on waivers and putting together their practice squad.

Each and every year, the Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski examines the initial 53-man rosters of each team in the NFL and ranks them based on average age.

As you'd expect, the Steelers sport one of the oldest 53-man rosters in the NFL. At an average age of 27.28 years, Pittsburgh ranks as the second-oldest team in the league, with only the Washington Commanders (28.09 years) coming in older.

That means the Steelers have the oldest roster both in the AFC and the AFC North. The next closest team in the conference is the Tennessee Titans at 26.58 years.

When it comes to other AFC North squads, the Bengals are the youngest (25.77), followed by the Baltimore Ravens (26.13) and the Cleveland Browns (26.15).

As far as the youngest team in the NFL is concerned, the Green Bay Packers own that title with an average age of 25.23 years.

Pittsburgh's average age of its initial 53-man roster in 2025 is actually older than last year's, when the Steelers came in as the third-oldest team at 26.81 years.

Two Steelers are tied for the title of the youngest player on the team, with defensive lineman Derrick Harmon and running back Kaleb Johnson being 22 years old. Of course, 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers is the oldest player on the team.

It's important to note that the Steelers will be making changes to their 53-man roster in the week-plus leading up to the start of the regular season, so the average age is subject to change, although it shouldn't change much.
