It's been a slow free agency burn for veteran defenseman Dmitry Orlov.
The Carolina Hurricanes aren't expected to keep Orlov, and they just lost Brent Burns to the Colorado Avalanche.
But where is Orlov going?
There have been almost no reports on what he may be up to.
The Daily Faceoff ranks Orlov as the top remaining free agent defenseman, so someone should be interested. And they cite the AFP Analytics projection of a three-year, $5.8 million AAV contract for Orlov.
What gives?
UPDATE: The San Jose Sharks have signed Orlov to a two-year deal for $6.5 million per year, according to The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun.

Orlov is a strong defender and still should have at least a few solid years left in his NHL career.
This past season, he had six goals and 22 assists in addition to his stout play defending in front of goal.
Someone will wind up with a solid defenseman in the form of Orlov. It's just not clear who it'll be yet.
