LIVE: Indy 500 updates, results
After winning the pole position last weekend, Scott Dixon is the odds-on favorite to win the 2017 Indy 500 this Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Dixon, who has 6-to-1 odds to win Sunday, recorded a four-lap average of 232.164 mph, the fastest qualifying time since Arie Luyendyk set the record at 236.986 mph in 1996. Dixon won the 2008 Indy 500 and is a four-time Verizon IndyCar Series champion.
It's a tight pack behind Dixon in the odds, though, with Helio Castroneves, Juan Pablo Montoya, Marco Andretti, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Tony Kanaan all at 9-to-1 odds to win as of Sunday morning, hours before the race. You can see the full Indy 500 lineup and starting grid here.
