Arsenal host Leeds United in their next Premier League match on August 23 at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners bagged a 1-0 win against Manchester United in their opening game on August 17 at Old Trafford.

Leeds, meanwhile, also secured a 1-0 victory in their first match following their promotion to the top flight, edging out Everton at Elland Road.

Both sides will be hoping to build a winning run to start the season, particularly while new signings are bedded in. Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres will hope this is the day he opens his Premier League account for his new club, while Leeds could turn to a pair of new forwards in a bid to spring a surprise on Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal and Leeds have faced each other on 30 occasions in the Premier League. The Gunners have a good record against their upcoming opponents, with 17 victories and eight defeats from those meetings. They have not lost in any competition to Leeds since May 2003, when Mark Viduka's 89th-minute goal sealed a 3-2 win that secured their survival and cost Arsenal the title.

Arsenal have three players missing due to injuries. The two most recent are Kai Havertz, who suffered a knee injury this week, and new signing Christian NorgaardGabriel Jesus is expected to miss the better part of the first half of the season as he recovers from knee surgery.

Any deal for Eberechi Eze is not likely to be completed in time for him to make his debut against Leeds. Gunners fans will instead need to wait until at least the visit to Anfield on August 31 to see Eze in action.

Arteta is not expected to make any player changes to the lineup and will keep it the same as that against Man United, perhaps with a minor tweak to the formation.

Arsenal predicted starting XI (4-3-3, right to left): Raya (GK) — White, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori — Odegaard, Zubimendi, Rice — Saka, Gyokeres, Martinelli

Injured: Havertz (knee), Norgaard (knock, doubt), Jesus (ACL)
Suspended: None

Leeds head coach Daniel Farke may consider giving a chance to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor to make their respective debuts in their upcoming league clash. Reports suggested that the availability of their English summer signing from Everton may be in doubt due to a lack of fitness, but Farke said on Thursday that both players were in good enough shape at least to be considered for the matchday squad.

Ethan Ampadu is also out with a ligament injury. Farke expects him to be back after the September international break.

Leeds are expected to make some changes to the lineup in comparison to last week, despite their success in the first match.

Leeds United predicted starting XI (4-3-3, right to left): Perri (GK) — Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundssonv— Stach, Gruev, Tanaka — Gnonto, Nmecha, Harrison

Injured: Calvert-Lewin (fitness, doubt), Ampadu (MCL)
Suspended: None
